Well everything is running fine on the PS2 front. Received evereything I ordered from EB, except my Memory Card. I did a lot of running around and ,after some good advice, bought the last one from a KB Toy Store. I had a few buddies over for the weekend and other than eating, sleeping ,and trying out the DVD functionality on The Matrix, the ol' PS2 was humming all weekend. 2 of my buddies spent a good chunk of the weekend getting up to level 27 or so on Smug's Run. We all kinda fell in love with Mad2K1, mainly because of the looks, but after getting sacked thru an entire half in NFL2K1 by my best bud and his brother (who just happen to own the game), I kinda prefer the Mad Man's version. TimeSplitters went over very well. After completing the game on the easy level, we have 9 glorious levels to destroy. I'm anxious to try out the level editor and will report after I do so.
I also have in my grubby little hands, courtesy of the fine folks at RedOctane.com, a copy of SSX and Midnight Club. Tried SSX a little last nite. It's not Tony Hawk PS, but I could grow to like it. I'm hoping to try out Midnight Club tonite. I'll give you a rundown later.

This can only lead to good things. I mean, last time time Nintendo worked with someone on something game related, they dropped the project, and out popped Playstation :) I'm wondering if maybe the veterans are going to take on the new kids. I doubt it will ever happen, but can you imagine what we'd get if the people behind Zelda, Mario, and Joanna Dark joined forces with the creators of Jet Set Radio, Sonic, and Crazy Taxi? Ahhh...bliss....

Just a general rant that I've been wondering about...
If Sony announced a month ago that only 500,000 PS2s would ship on launch date and that 100,00 a week would be shipped a week, a little quick math logic would lead me to believe that Sony only started making PS2s the week before they announced that they were going to be short?
4 weeks ago X 100,000 a week = 400,000 PS2s
Um. Am I missing something??? DO THE MATH!

Saw this on PlanetPS2 and had to pass it along. For those who don't know, Sony announced a few weeks ago that they would be cutting their initial shipments of PS2s in half from an orignal planned 1 million. That has left a lot of upset dedicated Sony fans.
I on the other hand have had my PS2 preorderd since at least Jan. '00 and currently have Madden 2001 and Smuggler's Run, 3 extra controllers. and a horizontal stand that I picked up last Sunday waiting semi-patiently in my living room for their big brother to come in Thursday. I was told that since my order is paid off, I will be receiving a bouncing baby PS2 on launch day. All I can say now is "EB, don't fail me now!" I'll let you know how things go.
BTW, while your there, you might want to do what I'm planning.
Put a preorder in on next years new arrivals - Microsoft's XBox and Nintendo's GameCube. They should be out this time next year. Get it out of the way, just in case...

Found a great site that allows you to do posts to a website. They even support free sites, such as Geocities. Blogger.com will hopefully get me running until I can figure out how to create a DB based site and find a permanent host.
