Evil Avatar reports that Lucas Arts, creators of Sam 'n' Max, Grim Fandango, and a litle thing called Star Wars, are apparently taking on the fellas over at id. Medal of Honor Allied Assault is a WWII FPS that will follow the PSX based shooter's footsteps over to the PC.
Aiming to out-Wolfenstein Gray Matter's Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor boasts 24 WWII themed missions that will allow gamers to "make strategic assaults (both by yourself or as part of a crack military team), infiltrate enemy headquarters disguised as a Nazi, rescue POWs, drive tanks and other military vehicles, destroy enemy installations, and demolish historicaly accurate landmarks." Naturally, a Saving Private Ryan style assault on Omaha Beach mission will be included.

Regged for a site on BarrysWorld.com. They offer some features that Geocities don't. I'll either create a duplicate site there or create a redirect here. They only offer FTp access, so I might leave a bit of the site up here. Might be messy, but if it works, oh well.
If Barrysworld sounds familiar, it is probably because they host quite a few game servers. I've been on their Unreal Fortress servers many a time.

VideoGameSpot has info on a version of Medal of Honor making it's way to the XBox. I've played the original and must say I was very impressed. By far one of the best FPS on the PS. I'm curious to see what EA can do with a system 4x as powerful. They sure did a fine job with what they had.
Now I love the Widdle Bwue Hedgehog as well as you do, but I see this as a good thing. I love my DC, but if I can get the games on another platform, that is a little less gear to deal with. With Sony and Microsoft entering the fray, I could possibly due without a Sega console. I'm not talking about tossing my DC and woudn't suggest it, but there are now 4 big console companies, and let's face it, Sega can make the games, but they tend to have a little trouble with their boxes. This article on CVG says that, although not verified by Sega, Sonic and company will appear on Nintendo's Game Boy in the near future. I'm not sure if they are referring to the GB, GBC, or soon to be released Game Boy Advance, but I see this as a good thing. Sega can whip anyone else on the market with the sheer quantity of quality titles (Take that Nintendo- Lots of Good Games :), but will a PS2 or Gamecube based Virtual On or Crazy Taxi sequel be that hard to swallow? I've only been recently introduced to Sega in the past few years with my DC, but I can see them covering all the bases with their future games. I'm sure that a few DC specific titles will keep it humming, but I could definately see them joining forces with Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony, at least in the software sense.

While checking out GameWeek.com for another bit, I glanced at another story concerning Square's future releases. It seems that The Bouncer has been pushed back until March.
GameWeek.com has word that 733 MHz ins't enough for the XBox. Apparently Microsoft plans to kick the 733 up to a 1 GHz and possibly beyond. Nice to see that someone is going to be cutting edge up to the point of manufacture and not stuck with something they developed a few years ago.

Greg Goodrich of id software sent a letter to Achtung Wolfenstein! concerning info on the hightly anticipated Return to Castle Wolfenstein, sequel to the classic FPS Wolfenstein. This game looks to kick serious booty and I will be first in line to get a copy...

MSNBC informs us that AOL is apparently in talks with Sony to be the ISP for the PS2. While I don't particularly care for AOL, they are everywhere and they do now own Time Warner, who just happen to be the parents of my much loved Road Runner cable modem. Could AOL become the ISP of choice for gamers?
CUBE.IGN has some exciting news for you BIG boys out there. It seems that EA Canada is going to create a game for the pending GC from NIntendo which is a modified, updated, and tricked out version of the excellent SSX Snowboarding that is currently ripping up the PS2. If all goes well, the BIG brand title will be followed up with "a rumored extreme mountain biking game."
I'm enjoying the PS2 and all, but as far as I'm concerned it is filler until the GC and XBox get here next year...

FGNOnline has news that Ms. Dark will be gracing your GBC on launch day (Whenever that may be). Seems ol' Rare is hauling post-Banjo-booty to make sure Joanna is ready to go when the Cube hits in October of '01. I can only imagine the fun that will be considering the amount of enjoyment I've had with buddies over a steaming hot helping of Timesplitters .

Ain't It Cool has a little tidbit to go with the post below concerning RE: The Movie. Apparently Buffy spinoff lead David Boreanaz will star as the leading man to Milla's leading female. For what is supposed to be a bad movie, they sure are getting some good people.
Leeloo is back! IGN FilmForce has news on the Resident Evil Movie, based on the video game series of the same name by Capcom. Milla Jovovich, Leeloo from the Sci Fi cult classic The Fifth Element, will star as Alice in the zombie filled pic.

The Register reports today that the Gameboy is currently outselling the PS2 in Japan. I'm starting to worry about my new DVD player, I mean game console...
:)
:)
IGN's XBox site has some details on the controller for the new MS console.
Sounds like Microsoft is taking the best of all worlds. (Six Buttons - N64, Memory Card Slots and Trigger Buttons - DC, and Two Analog Sticks - PS)
I don't know about you folks, but Microsoft seems to be doing a fine job on their future system...
Two analog sticks (both with thumbstick buttons like the PlayStation 2 controller)
Six proportional buttons
Two trigger buttons
Start/back button
Memory card slots.

WHOOHOO! It's official. Spikers Battle is a "semi-sequel" to Spikeout. I hope this one makes it to the USA and to my Dreamcast...
Reports out of Japan indicate that the game runs on the standard Naomi architecture. Four cabinets can be linked together for four player simultaneous play, which can take the form of a battle royal, although we also presume four players will be able to fight alongside one another as well. It also seems that the game will feature new characters, although details are unclear.
Thank you IGN.com. You made my day...
FGN has informed the world that Nintendo is still Nintendo. While still speculative, they have word that the Big N is planning on delaying the Cube until 2002. I was hoping that this wouldn't happen. I have long since given up hope on Nintendo releasing anything even remotely close to it's scheduled launch date. I love the Mario Maker's, but this is starting to become old hat and very disappointing. Maybe if they worried a little less about that dang Pikachu...

Mr. Ebert has an article on Final Fantasy : The Movie on the Sun Times website.
HONOLULU--Consider the eyes in the photo that accompanies this article. They are from a movie. Is it live action, or animated?
A graphic arts expert might correctly vote that the eyes were created by a computer, but for most filmgoers, they're as real as any other eyes in the movies. They belong to a heroine named Aki, who is the star of a new kind of movie that premieres in July 2001.
If the movie is as impressive as the trailer suggests, "Final Fantasy" decisively may change the way action epics look in the future. Most current big canvas blockbusters try to combine live action and computer-generated images seamlessly. But you can see or sense the seams, Lee says: "In a movie like `The Haunting' there's a disconnect between reality and [computer-generated images]. Here, the characters and the world all inhabit the same reality."
If "Final Fantasy" is successful, it will challenge the reign of action stars such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and directors such as George Lucas, who make films that place human actors in special effects settings. If Jabba the Hut can be created by a computer, Lucas may find himself asking, why not Luke Skywalker? Could a producer like Chris Lee simply license Schwarzenegger's name, appearance and voice, and create a digital version of him in an animated adventure?
Maybe, but Lee has little enthusiasm for digital copies of real people: "It would be easier to duplicate Humphrey Bogart than to come up with someone new," he says, "but the challenge is in creating new characters." He might have added (but did not) that once you create them you own them, and they don't have agents.
